	フレーザー・テイラー　Fraser Taylor No 1, 2008　oil and carbon on paper 57 x 76.5 cm 　私の最近の作品は、都市シカゴの人工的な、直線構成の境界線、フェンスや高速道路、橋梁、鉄道線路、工事用バリケードなどを表徴している。　これらの線は、空間を切り出し、人々が通行出来る場所、出来ない場所を区分している。２００１年にシカゴに移住して以来、私の故郷スコットランドの起伏に富んだ地形とは対照的に、米国中西部の平坦なの地形が、過多な人工的境界線の建設を助長し、これらが、実際の人の移動の境界であれ、文化・人種といった観念上の境界であれ、人々に心理的な緊張を強いていると感じている。目下、訪問美術家として米国シカゴ美術学校、繊維と材料研究学科所属 'The city of Chicago has informed my recent drawings with irregular, rectilinear outlines of artificial boundaries of fences, expressways, bridges, train tracks, and construction barricades. These carve out spaces that define individuals by where they can and cannot pass. Since moving to Chicago in 2001, the flat Midwestern terrain, in contrast to the hilly topography of my native Scotland, encourages the erection of a plethora of manmade perimeters that carry a psychological tension defining various borders, both actual and conceptual, that define, culture, race and the body.' 	森山優子　Yuko Moriyama-Wiffen Water Spirits Series 2008　graphite on paper 100 x 150 cm 「水の風景」がここ１０年来の私の一貫したテーマです。主として紙の上にグラファイト（鉛筆）で描写し、また青写真法を使用します。私は作品において、スピリチャルな内面を表徴する事に関心を持っています。私が水を描くのは、私が目を閉じて瞑想すると現われる水の、そのスピリチャルな特性に気付かされるためです。優子森山ウィフィン　英国登録建築家。現在主として美術家として活躍　ロンドン在住 'Waterscape has been my theme for the last ten years. I mainly use graphite on paper and the cyanotype process. In my work, I am interested in representing inner spirituality. I chose water as my subject because I feel its spiritual quality, water is what I see when I close my eyes to contemplate.' by Yuko Moriyama-Wiffen, an architect who lives and works as a fulltime artist in London.
